Guide To Paying Child Support
When paying child
support, you will be allocated a 'collection schedule'. This will be
unique to you and worked out based on your personal circumstances. It
is important that you make contact with the your local branch of Child
Support Agency if you do not understand any part of your collection
schedule. This guide will not answer every question you may have, it
merely serves as some additional helpful information.
The normal period covered by a
schedule is one year, with a new schedule being sent out to you around
about 1 month before the end of your current schedule. This will
obviously change if there are any alterations made to your payment
amount or if anything else happen that may disrupt your payment
schedule. You will be given an option of when to pay based on what is
most suitable for your circumstances. If you are paid on the 1st day of
each month for example it would make sense for the payment to be made
on this date or soon after. If you are paid weekly you can pay weekly
to coincide with your pay. If you are paying for more than one child or
to more than one primary caretaker you will still pay one lump amount
with the seperate payments being divided out after payment is received.
